Описание
After 23 years of very satisfying ownership, it’s time for someone else to enjoy this fine example of a
Datsun 240Z. It has been looked after very carefully since arriving in Europe from San Diego in 2002, when
it was restored for me by Fourways Engineering – then and now one of the best Z-specialists in the UK.
Never driven between November and April (heated garage, lifted on blocks) and rarely in the rain, the car
has spent most of it’s time in the dry, sunny climate of Italy, making the journey many times between
there and the UK without a hitch.
The list of renovations and modifications across the years is extensive, supported by receipts, photos and
as much help as my aging memory can provide. In no particular order the car benefits from a rebuilt
gearbox from a 280ZX, a Janspeed exhaust, gas-flowed head, rebored block with oversize pistons, fastroad cam, vented disc brakes, a triple-core radiator, aftermarket a/c, and sound deadening. The bare
metal respray is holding up well after these 23 years, and the colour really suits the car, especially set
against the chrome which has exactly the right amount of patina. It took me something like 15 years to
find the matching door mirror for the passenger door and almost as long to find an original metal hood
emblem (not the later plastic one). The tyres are new, and the oil & filter are fresh. The cooling system
hoses are recent, as are the points (and there’s a brand-new set). Basically, everything you can think of
that a passionate car-owner and collector might do has probably been done!
The car comes with a quality indoor car cover, a set of manuals (including the original Nissan workshop
ones), a collection of books, a history file, a couple of pairs of tail lights and the usual boxes of assorted
parts accumulated over the years…
