la 190 SL est le fruit de l'imagination de l'importateur américain de Mercedes-Benz.
D'apparence similaire à la 300, mais moins complexe et moins coûteuse, la 190 SL offre un caractère sportif sans prétention à la course. Utilisant des composants mécaniques éprouvés, la 190 SL était propulsée par un quatre cylindres de 1,9 litre à SACT avec deux carburateurs Solex.
La 190 SL a fait ses débuts à Genève en mars 1955. Lorsque la production s'est achevée en 1963, 25 881 exemplaires avaient été construits.
The 190 SL was the brainchild of the American importer of Mercedes-Benz.
Similar in appearance to the 300 SL, but less complex and less expensive, the 190 SL offered a sporty character without racing pretensions.Using proven mechanical components, the 190 SL was powered by a 1.9-liter SOHC four-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors.
The 190 SL made its debut at Geneva in March 1955. By the time production ended in 1963, 25,881 examples had been built.
